The February meeting

The bad news is:  February was our last meeting in the wonderful Stitcher’s Crossing shop!  We will miss all of the fabulous people and, of course, THE FABRIC!!!!!!  Thank you so much, Sharon and Stitcher’s Crossing!  We will miss you but will certainly be seeing you unofficially for further shopping. The good news is:  we will now be meeting in the much larger space of the Whitney Way HyVee Community Room.  There are great plans […]

May-be Someday Block Lotto

May 14th, 1787 was the date earmarked for the Constitutional Convention to take place in Philadelphia, PA to form a more perfect union of the then 13 newly independent states.  Only two delegates showed up on time, some states boycotted altogether, but a quorum of seven state delegates was secured on May 25th, initiating the discussions that eventually formed the United States Constitution (it took them a few months to iron out the details…). And […]

Sew Spaces!

We’d love it if fellow quilters could snap a photo (or three…) of their Sew Space to share w/ the rest of the guild.  No space is too small or too large, too messy or too organized, we want to see the creative zone in which you make your amazing quilt art.  I’ll go first! What I love about my Sew Space by JEB (Jenn Brunner): It’s right in the thick of things.  I used to have a small sewing […]

March block lotto – For the birds!

March in Wisconsin means the sandhill cranes are migrating North and is one of the first signs of impending SPRING, which was the inspiration for the lotto block this month.  It’s kind of a flying geese meets log cabin, with a gray gradation twist (gray-dation?). I went with red because it reminded me of cranes, but you can choose whatever single bright/bold color you would like against the gray background (multiple fabrics should be roughly the same […]

The silver lining…..

They say that every cloud has one; Mad Mod has found ours! We were notified in November that Stitcher’s Crossing was for sale and that we could only be assured of our meeting space through the May meeting. The officers have been looking at the options for a move and found a dandy… too good to pass. Therefore , it is with much sadness for leaving Stitcher’s Crossing, that we announce that as of the […]
