I can’t wait for May!

April showers, bring May flowers, but I live in Wisconsin, so I’ll be blunt. I need flowers and I want them now! Spring is such a wonderful season, and although our winter wasn’t too bad, I’m happy to have a little more sun at the end of my day, a lighter jacket and what I hope will soon be tulips and daffodils poking out of my flower beds. This hope and day dreams of the coming Spring are the inspiration for this months block lotto.

One of the tulip blocks I made using the tutorial below.

We will be making the Tulip Tutorial by Elizabeth E. over at opquilt.com

I chose this quick, fun block assembled in a 9-patch fashion with 3-1/2″ squares and half-square triangles trimmed to the same size. These come together really quick and are a great way to use some of your larger scraps and stash.

This month we are asking that you keep the leaves green and the blooms bright!

For the background fabric you will need to stick to white. If it’s a white on white print, that’s fine, but a solid white is good too. Please don’t use ivory, cream or “winter white”…it’s spring for Pete’s sake!

Let’s see how many Tulips we can make into a beautiful garden!
