Due at July 11th Meeting – Blocks must be present to be entered into drawing!

Details:

Center – yellow or pink

Light colors – low volume fabrics

Dark colors – solid or prints any color blue

Finished size should be 10.5”

June 2024 Meeting – A Few of My Favorite Things….

Various guild members discussed and demonstrated their favorite quilting tools. This was a very fun & interactive meeting. Here is the list of favorite tools presented: 

Angela – graph paper

Pam – using a variety of textiles outside of traditional quilting cotton, seam roller + mouse pad for pressing seams open next to your sewing machine, using adhesive velcro + a letter opener to attach a chain piecing seam cutter on your sewing table

Missy – small size Dritz seam ripper (Blue Bar Quilts stocks these!)

Diane G – various quilting templates (apple core from Missouri Star, 60 degree kite, etc)

Trisha – strip stick for pressing seams open, wool pressing mat + clapper, misting bottles (Blue Bar also sells all of these items), & a sew together bag made with clear pouches

Melinda – spreadsheets for quilt patterns she owns, in progress quilts, & completed quilts

Marian – Clearly Perfect rulers – for easy trimming of half square triangles with no leftover “dog ears,’ Stripology ruler (Blue Bar sells these, too!)

Diane – Simple Folded Corner ruler made by Doug Leko/Antler Quilt Design 

Ash – Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool 

Melissa – gravity-fed iron, various hand sewing tools (Little House rubber thimbles, Dritz soft comfort thimble, Sulky Petites 12 weight thread collections, Robot Mom Sews thread conditioner, milliner’s needles (size 3 or 5), sashiko needles
