June 2026 Meeting Minutes

Voting on ByLaws – Motion to approve and second. All members in attendance (39) voted in favor to pass the updated by laws. No members in attendance were opposed. Updated by laws were sent to all members by email more than two weeks before this meeting for review and the opportunity to ask questions. Changes were highlighted at the beginning of the meeting and an opportunity was provided for anyone to ask questions prior to voting. There were no additional questions. To recap: changes included updated language to 501(c)(3) language to align with Modern Quilt Guild language and adding language to address what we will do in the event the guild ever dissolves.

Presentation: Cheryl Sleboda from Muppin
Not Your Grandmother’s Quilter was the topic of the presentation. Cheryl highlighted so many of the amazing quilts she has made using a wide variety of techniques. She found a lot of inspiration from making weekly quilt series to explore different ideas and techniques, including a “technique of the week” series.

Outreach: 150+ completed pillowcases for Ryan’s Case for Smiles have been turned in! Thank you, everyone!! Since the June meeting was switched to virtual, the final deadline to turn in pillowcases will be at the July meeting.
