Just because I say it every month doesn’t keep it from being true: I can’t believe that another month has gone by !!!!!
Our May meeting featured a special speaker: Klaudeen Hanson, who started the Sun Prairie Quilt Show (one of the two longest running shows in the U.S) and is an internationally renown and respected quilt judge. During her talk, I alternated between “I’ll NEVER enter a quilt show” and “I could absolutely enter and should”!!! Where do you line up?
Klaudeen stressed that she does not want to discourage people from quilting and entering shows by making negative judging remarks. If we all stop exhibiting, there won’t be any shows to attend.
The usual wonderful show and tell followed: Diana shows the charity quilt that she quilted before it goes home with Amy for binding.
Amy showed her many wonderful charity quilts…all sewn and quilted on her featherweight! She used the “quilt as you go” method.
Gloria shared the quilt that she made for her first-ever dog! Note the backing fabric.
First time visitor Ellen brought a wonderful and colorful (aren’t they the same thing?) quilt.
Celeste also shows she isn’t afraid of color!
Sue made a purse in Trina’s class!
Joan shows well in blue and green.
Shara shows that she has been busy….
Lori brought a baby quilt. Personalized wedding and graduation quilts. . . .
Megan shows great color sense too!
Shara brought Cheryl’s tuffet so that we could all see what a fabulous creation we could make in her classes….she is teaching at several fabric/sewing machine shops in the area. Check Facebook to see what they look like as someone forgot to photo it!
See you in June!
