Greetings! Dustin here, and I am launching my first block lotto for the month of July! This was inspired by a post on Facebook from member Cathy Birkholz. Please check out this video for some tips and ideas to make a traditional churn dash block, play with proportion and then another that gets a little wonky!

PLEASE NOTE! We are not going to use the “required fabrics” as stated in the video, but we are asking that you work with a patriotic palette of red, white and blue. The blocks should finish at 9″ x 9″ so the blocks for the lotto will be 9-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ when you turn them in at the meeting.
One more thing… I really enjoyed the video from the Toronto Modern Quilt Guild, and the message about taking on a challenge and doing something different and outside of our comfort zone. I hope you enjoy this and I can’t wait to see all your blocks at our next meeting!
