As I teased at the April meeting, the block lotto for May requires you to log in to the national Modern Quilt Guild website to get the instructions for this month’s block. I chose the block they featured in February – the side stripe by Renee Tallman.
Use the measurements in the pattern (no wonky this time), and let’s work through Step 5 (where you trim the block to 6.5″ square) and then STOP. Don’t sew them into pairs, and we’ll let the lucky winner mix and match them.
NOTE: if you have questions or problems getting into the national site, contact our treasurer Catherine VH.
As far as color scheme, let’s try a DesignSeed image as inspiration.
You don’t have to match the colors exactly, but give it a try. And every block doesn’t need every color – pick and choose from the selection, and solids and prints are both welcome. Also, put any color in any spot – they don’t need white triangles like the teaser picture above. Make them dark or light or in-between as you wish.
Have fun, and I hope we see a good selection at the meeting on May 10. If you have questions, contact Trish F.
