The Madison Modern Quilt Guild met on August 13th for general business and our usual sew and tell.
Upcoming Events
- Scrap Swap @ the September Meeting!
- Please bring a quart-sized bag of scraps to the September meeting if you wish to participate.
- We will be drawing names to determine swap partners; you will bring home your swap partners’ scraps and create something awesome with them (mini-quilt, pouch, bag, pillow, etc.)
- You have two months to make a gift for your partner. Bring your finished gift to the November meeting!
- MMQG First Annual Sewing Retreat
- Friday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 25th at the Jones Mansion in Mineral Point, WI.
- Quilt Expo
- September 10-12th at the Alliant Energy Center.
- Please come out to shop, be inspired, learn something new and support our guild members who are showing quilts or are teaching classes.

Sew and Tell
Lori M. showed a Dresden neighborhood wall quilt taught by Kim Lapacek at Millhouse Quilts as well as a half-square triangle quilt that was a block-lotto win.
Amy P. showed a scrappy quilt from her UFO pile. It was quilted on her “rinky dink” sewing machine.
Gloria displayed her reversible tote bag and a tuffet with French fabric
Amy A. has made a plethora of beach hats! She refined her pattern with each hat for the perfect fit for reading at the beach.
Debbie showed a modern quilt top with inset triangles of her own design (after she was led astray by the pattern designer!).
Sue showed her Goody-goody binding bag.
Lori B. showed her pinwheel quilt with prairie points on the binding and a tote bag.
Trish showed off her latest Project Quilting finish, which was a log cabin design in red. She also showed an online mystery quilt with skulls, quilted by Stitchlilly. Trish will be teaching a class; Sam Hunter’s ‘Birch Bark’ Pattern at Millhouse Fabrics on Saturday September 19th!
Cheryl showed off her latest (Silk!) tuffet and a T-shirt quilt.
