The Great Escape quilt retreat starts April 14! Thank you to all of the sponsors and folks who have helped get it up and running.
Project Linus will be hosting a make-a-blanket day in early fall. They are also still needing more no-sew fleece blankets (instructions on their website), which make a great service project option for young people.
Our speaker was Roy Mitchell, Jr., aka Watermelunman. Roy spoke about his quilting journey and the work he does in the juvenile justice system in Virginia. He has been teaching quilting classes to incarcerated youth since 2012. He has taught over 300 young men through the quilting program he started with the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice.
