Meeting Minutes – February 2023

Dustin started with a retreat update. There are 27 spots filled so far, 40 spots available. It’s now open to anyone (other guilds included) so if you want a spot, get one before they’re gone!

The Lodi Quilt Guild Academy is coming up on April 1 at Lodi High School. This event will feature lots of mini classes.

What is the guild’s PAUSE event? It’s an opportunity for people to get together to hang out and sew. They are moving around to different in-person locations around the Madison area. Some are virtual, too. They are on Saturdays or Sundays. Some locations charge a fee so some of the PAUSE events have a small fee. Bring your own machine and project, or bring hand stitching.

P – Progress

A – Accountability

U – Unfinished Projects

S – Scrap Management

E – Enjoy Time with Others

Eileen shared Project Linus updates. They are still looking for a replacement coordinator for the chapter.

Tara shared a membership update. She will be reaching out to confirm that everyone has renewed. Please make sure that you get your checks or PayPal dues payments in by the end of February so that we can meet our deadline for renewing with the national Modern Quilt Guild.

For the next time we meet in-person, wear a nametag if you can! There are great free tutorials online on how to make a nametag.

The February cherry Block Lotto winner was Jeri Lijewski! There is no Block Lotto next month. Instead you can participate in the plus sign block swap.

Guest Speaker: Gael Boyd – Community in quilting! Gael talked about the origin of the Blue Bar Quilts shop and how she builds community through service, groups, and educational offerings.
