August 2017 Meeting Recap

Thank you Blue Bar Quilts for hosting us!  There were 43 present at the August meeting; 8 of those were visitors.

We had an introductory tour of the Blue Bar dye studio…what a great opportunity this offers for those of us who don’t want to undertake dyeing at home!  Since that meeting, I took the low-immersion dye class and loved it!  Can’t wait to try the Surface Design with Thickened Dyes class!

There was much interest expressed in having a Mad Mod “hanging” at the Monona library.  Linda will follow up on that.

Dayna reported that we have 74 paid members and that our dues collection will move to October-November rather than December-January.  This should put us more in line with MQG and keep us from having to hold onto the dues money for an entire year.

Officer elections are held in November.  The three elected positions are president, secretary and treasurer.  On the slate at this time are Dayna, president, Catherine, treasurer and Margaret remaining as secretary.  Other candidates must be nominated by the October meeting.  Appointed positions are open; events and charity.  Please consider taking one of these positions….it is a great way to become a real part of Mad Mod!

Following the meeting there was a brief organizational meeting of the MQG Charity Challenge committee.

And……show and tell!!!
