Let’s celebrate the amazing MMQG community we’ve built – with a block lotto full of houses for the August 9, 2018 meeting! Build whatever kind of house you want. Make it simple or complex. July block lotto – pineapple at the pool
This month for block lotto I’m offering a bit of a freedom, with just a few rules. Let’s make pineapple blocks! I’m not going to give you a pattern or even a tutorial – there are a million of them out there, so warm up your Googler. Make any of the variations or versions – just end up with an 8″ finish block (8.5″ unfinished). To unify things just a bit, let’s go with a color […]
April block lotto – candy bento box
Here are the instructions for the block lotto for our April 12, 2018 meeting. I changed my mind slightly on the color palette – let’s not use white, and instead mix these spring pastels with CHOCOLATE! The block instructions can be found here. Don’t sew the quadrants together, though – let’s leave them in quarter-block units that will be 6.5″ unfinished. Where the tutorial’s pictures show white, substitute BROWN. Use the pastels for all […]

September meeting
The September meeting is just a memory… lost in the whirlwind that is The Quilt Expo! It was such fun to see the quilts by our members, members vending, members volunteering and even…..YES! Members shopping! Some of us were left with the feeling that we should get our act together and submit a quilt next year; some of us were left with the feeling that we would never be good enough. Possibly we were all […]
