Presentation: Elizabeth Tucker, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Textile Arts
Center (TAC) of Madison
TAC’s Mission:
The Textile Arts Center of Madison builds community, facilitates sustainability, and
inspires creativity among makers and appreciators through programming and resources
aimed at cultivating meaningful engagement with textile and fiber arts.
Elizabeth provided a comprehensive overview of TAC. Some highlights about TAC: free
exhibitions open to the public that usually feature local artists, plentiful course offerings
in a wide variety of fiber-based arts, semiannual TAC resales, community programming,
and an Artist in Residence program. For further details and to check out everything TAC
has to offer, please head to the website. On the website, you can also find more
information about membership and/or volunteering for TAC.

Outreach: 28 completed pillowcases for Ryan’s Case for Smiles have been turned in
already. Thank you, everyone! Remember, we set a goal to have 100 completed
pillowcases by our June meeting. Please continue to work on making pillowcases –
there are some kits still remaining, or feel free to make pillowcases from your own fabric
stash. If you need to coordinate picking up a kit or have questions, please reach out to
Vicky Herring.
Instructions from Ryan’s Case for Smiles found here.
Board Position:
Anne Schoenemann was the single guild member to express interest in filling the open
treasurer position. Voting occurred, and Anne was approved and welcomed to the board
at the meeting. Thank you, Anne!
