Concept: Snowy sky at night. All snowflakes will be based on a friendship Star with your
choice of middle block.
Size: 9.5 inches unfinished (9 inches finished)
—> the friendship Star is a modified nine patch
—> each of the nine squares of the block is 3.5 inches unfinished
—> the middle star can be solid snowflake color or background, or make it your own. All snowflakes are unique!
Snowflakes colors: white, off white, very low volume (remember, snowflakes don’t fall
from the sky yellow or pink)
Background colors: black, dark blue, navy, dark purple
Note: The half square triangles in the friendship star should all go in one direction as in
the pictures and tutorial. But no certain direction is dictated for the block lotto because
we will get a mixture and it will add interest to the quilt.
Tutorial: The tutorial makes 12 inch blocks, so make sure to scale down to dimensions
above for a 9 inch block.
