In addition to our normal monthly meeting where we brainstorm events, show and tell, chat and share sewing tips, we have a challenge for our August 29, 2012 meeting.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a quart or sandwich size bag full of coordinating scraps.
In that bag include your name and ideas of what you might like made with your scraps because you’re getting it back at our September meeting! Include ideas for beginners, intermediate and advanced quilters.
We will draw names to determine who we swap scraps with.
Abby Gambrel is interested in creating a wall grouping of mini quilts for her home. She is considering bringing a completed wall hanging to show at the August meeting so her partner has inspiration to make a second coordinating wall hanging. Your welcome to do the same or here are a few other project ideas to consider: pot holder, zipper pouch, pillow, bag, name tag, or quilt block.
Do you have other small project ideas? Want to suggest a name for this months challenge? Tell us in the comments!
See you in August!
Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for the most up to date information on our Guild.
