Ellen Sweeney won the January snowflake block lotto! Next month’s block lotto will be a cherry block for National Cherry Month. Ellen reports that it’s quick to sew, but read the instructions carefully to avoid any issues.
Marian Stimson presented on WIPS & Works in Progress. She shared a WIP tracker and Bust Your Stash worksheet with guild members, along with tips to help us get past roadblocks preventing us from finishing projects. She recommended Rediscovering Your Stash by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr as a resource.
Marian announced that there will be a block swap in March as a stash buster: Low volume background with a cool color to make a plus block.
Marian also announced the Great Escape Quilt Retreat. Registration will be open to guild members first, then open to the general public. The retreat will be April 14 – 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Middleton.
