October 2018 Meeting Recap

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!!

For those of you that participate in the Halloween festivities, we hope you are all geared up for face painting, crazy costumes and LOTS of sugar.

Here is the recap of the October 2018 Meeting:

We were surrounded by 42 friends, with 2 guests in attendance.  Eileen was the winner of our wonderful Halloween Theme block lotto.  We can’t wait to see what she makes with all the wonderful blocks.  Next month’s Block Lotto theme is Chickens.  You can find more info here.

Announcements:

~We are still looking for members to step up and play a more active role in our community.  If you would like to be on the board or help us plan for our speakers next year, please let us know.

~The Jones Mansion Retreat was a great success.  We will repeat it and have other offerings in the future.  Stay tuned for more information.

~We will be doing the Stash Buster Sale again for 2019.  It will once again be at Blue Bar Quilts.  Stay tuned for more information on this fun event.

AWESOME AUCTION & HOLIDAY PARTY!

For December, Tara has put together an Auction and Holiday party!

How this works is that members donate items from their craft rooms to MadMod for the Awesome Auction. When you come in for the December meeting, you can buy raffle tickets and then use each ticket as a bid for bundles in the auction. About an hour or so in we start drawing tickets to see who won each item.

You are welcome to bring baked goods to donate to the auction the night of the meeting! All proceeds go towards the Guild!

What we need:

1) donations – please bring stuff to the November meeting for Tara to collect

2) We need some volunteers to help put stuff in bundles

3) ALSO: if you have old baskets or tins or whatnot for us to put bundles in that would be appreciated!

PRESENTATION

We were so lucky to have Cheryl Schenck from Unspooled present to us.  Cheryl is beyond talented and is able to work magic when it comes to fabric, cutting, and quilt planning.  Cheryl offered to put notes from her presentation up on her website for us.  Thank you so much Cheryl for sharing your talents with us!

Please Join Us in November for Mary Fisher!

She will be helping us organize our stash!  This is a meeting no one will want to miss.
