December Block lotto – Vector planes

This month I’m using a less complex paper-pieced pattern that can be found on the Modern Quilt Guild website – you’ll need to log in as a member to access the Vector pattern found here. (If you have problems with national site login, contact treasurer Catherine Van Hove) While you’re on the MQG site, poke around a little bit: There are some amazing resources on the national site, and you’ve already paid for access to them! MMQG Special Session on Space Concerns

Hello MMQG! Fact: Membership is growing by leaps and bounds because you’re all so fun and talented! We currently have 89 members and our meeting room at Blue Bar Quilts accommodates 59.  WOW! To address our growing membership and current space constraints, all members were invited to attend a workshop on October 25. Member Wendy Franczak and her coworker Jill List lead the group through a consensus workshop attended by 17 of our 89 members. I knew it would be so much fun in a mix of styles and fabrics.   Here’s the tutorial to use for the blocks. It’s not a square – it ends up 7″ x 8″ unfinished. Low-volume fabric (print or solid, […]

October block lotto – Halloween

It was recommended that since this will be our October 11 meeting, perhaps the next block lotto theme should be Halloween. And who am I to deny your use of happy skulls? Well, I won’t! Make any block, in any colors. Just so long as it feels like Halloween, and it it’s a 12″ block (12.5″ unfinished). Show me your best spooky! For every block you bring, you’ll get one entry to win the whole lot […]

MMQG Special Meeting Called

We LOVE meeting at Blue Bar Quilts however we are really close to being over capacity and breaking fire code. Membership needs to come together and find a solution. There are many options available to us with many pros and cons. Some options could include staying at BBQ but requiring RSVPs to attend monthly meetings OR renting a larger space elsewhere. To address this issue we are holding a special meeting Thursday, October 25, 6 […]

If you want to learn more about design essentials Lorraine hosts classes locally that come highly recommended and you can buy her book.  Visit her website for more information. Like always we had a robust FREEBIE […]
