January charity finishes

Oh boy!  Oh boy!  After a long time of the quilts wending their way through soooo many hands….ta da!!!  We have completions.    Twelve quilts have been donated to Project Linus. As you have heard over and over ” smoke-free and pet-free sewing areas” are required when working on these quilts.  As many of our members have pets, other donation sites are being sought.  Stay tuned!  Never fear, however, there are many superhero quilts ready to […]

I am writing this post from my smartphone during a break while at my daughter’s volleyball tournament in Milwaukee, which is going to go longer than expected, so I just downloaded an app that allows me to control my DVR and record the Packer game we are going to miss. Ah, the many miracles of modern technology! General Quilt Block Lotto rules: 1. Make one quilt block (or more) following the pattern and color scheme […]

January Block Lotto – HSTs!

JEB is in da house!  Sorry I’m so late in getting this out 🙁  Got some pretty big block lotto shoes to fill behind Andria, so please be patient with me.  This is my first time blogging.  Like, ever.  I’m fairly sure I’ll be an addict once I get the hang of it, but there will be some stumbling along the way…  Happy to receive your suggestions for improvement as we go along! How to play […]

December Block Lotto

Here is this months block for the lotto! The color palette is minty green, grey-blue, navy, persimmon, and tan. This month’s block is a big single bear paw block. The instructions can be found HERE. We will be doing the 12″ block so be sure to check your measurements on the chart given! Let’s keep the background white. It would really be awesome to play around with the large center square (D in the diagram) […]

First, I would like to thank member Catherine Heffron Van Hove for our expertly designed logo and our members for voting it in!  THANK YOU! Officers collaborated and voted on color palettes picked out by Events Officer Andria Olson.  Please welcome the beautiful and classically colored Madison […]

Quilts for the homeless

There is a big need for quilts for the homeless; I have ‘tons’ of fabric that really doesn’t lend itself to our other quilts. Does anyone want to join me at my house to assemble the fabric into quilts?  Or I can provide ‘kits’ for you to assemble one at home. I’m just sewing together pieces of fabric and finishing them by sewing on the backing and turning it inside out through an opening (with […]
