The next block lotto will […]

Don’t stop be-LEAF-ing! October 2022 Block Lotto

Since we don’t have a MMQG meeting in September due to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, the next block lotto drawing will be at our October meeting on Thursday 10/13.   So here we are: fall is just around the corner. To honor and celebrate Fall 2022, this block lotto we are going to make a leaf block designed by Amy Smart – Diary of a Quilter (12” block!).  The colors for this block will be a […]

Meeting Minutes – July 2022

This month we had an all virtual meeting, but we will be returning to hybrid format for future meetings. Dustin reported that $150 was donated to the Modern Quilt Guild in memory of a local quilter. Modern Quilt Guild sent it to our chapter to use for a charitable purpose. After discussion at the June meeting, the funds have been allocated to paying for quilting for any quilts that will be donated to the GSAFE […]

ADDENDUM!: New Block/Link for: August 2022 Block Lotto: Monochromatic Pinwheels!

Monochromatic Light and Dark Pinwheel Blocks to be more specific! We are in the thick of Summer Fun! So for block lotto this month, I’ve decided on something that is quick and fun, so you can still participate in block lotto without spending too much time making your block(s). For these blocks, CONTRAST is the key. Choose two fabrics OF THE SAME COLOR: one light fabric and one dark fabric. This will create a nice […]

Meeting Minutes – June 2022

We gathered in the Blue Bar Quilts parking lot for a quilt guild trunk show! Members brought a few of their favorite quilts to share with the group. Ellen showed examples of the July blocks, a stars and stripes block combo. Project Linus: Eileen shared that the local chapter of Project […]

I’m seeing STARS (… and STRIPES)!

I generally don’t see myself as a super “patriotic” person.  And I know I am not alone when I express massive levels of stress regarding some current state of affairs.  … in a few weeks it will be 4th of July!  That makes me think of the American Flag.  So despite the mountain we need to climb in regards to many Human Rights and eliminating the NRA, the American Flag represents this country we live in, and there are […]

Meeting Minutes – May 2022

This meeting was moved to an all-virtual meeting because of COVID in the officer team and increasing case rates in Dane County. We’ll continue to monitor and adjust throughout the year.  Project Linus has lots of inventory to cover summer blanket needs. Block Lotto: 9 people made tulips for May. Winner is Eileen Kellor! June block lotto will be low volume + rainbow log cabin. Check the website for Ellen’s instructions about the specific color […]

June: My Favorite Color (RAINBOW)

June is my favorite month! Not just because it is my birthday (June 17th! You can send me cards at 104 Elm… …. Haha, Just kidding!). June is my favorite month because the daylight is long, summer officially begins, …. And June is LGBTQ+ Awareness and Pride month, so that means: RAINBOWS! Rainbows Everywhere! (Rainbow Happy Dance!). In celebration of my favorite color (Rainbow), for June Block Lotto 2022 we will do a Rainbow Log […]

Meeting Minutes: April 2022

April 14, 2022 It was our first hybrid meeting! It was great to reconnect with people in person and continue to offer a virtual option as well. Thanks to everyone for your patience as we learned how to navigate the technology. Marian shared an update on the postcard swap. The guild in Texas is still recruiting participants. Anticipate more info about the swap in late May or early June. Project Linus is looking for a […]

May Flowers (MMQG Block Lotto May ‘22)

Spring is here! Despite the current weather not feeling Spring-like (chilly & rainy), we all know the cliche that gives us HOPE: April showers bring May flowers! Let’s plan on warmer days full of colorful flowers with this month’s block lotto: Tulip Quilt Block from Kristina at Center Street Quilts. Remember that one block = one entry! The Winner will be randomly selected at the May MMQG meeting. Here are the parameters for this block: […]
